Registration Policies: 

Register Early for Programs!
Florissant Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine classes or change instructors as needed. If a class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, registered participants will be notified of an alternate class or program if one is available, or offered a full refund or account credit for registration fees paid.


Registration Policy
Registration begins shortly after 8:00AM on the date indicated and will continue on a space-available basis. Verified Residency or current resident cards must be presented at the time of registration in order to receive resident rates. Children under four years of age must have a parent’s resident card. Phone registration begins at 9:00AM on the date indicated as the first day of registration. Online registration begins at 8:00AM on the first day of registration.


Refund Policy

The department has the right to combine, reschedule or cancel due to low enrollment.

All refunds are given back to the original form of payment; the only exception is user credit.

1.      Refund Requests

·         All refund requests must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the start of the program or class.

·         Refunds may take up to 14 business days to process.

·         Refunds are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the circumstances, a refund may not be issued.

2.      Daily Admission:

·         No refunds are given for daily admission to any of the facilities including outdoor pools.

·         There are no refunds for resident/non-resident cards

3.      Facility Memberships:

·         Annual membership refunds will be issued at a prorated amount dated to the end of the month and are subject to a $25 cancelation fee.

4.      General Programs

·         Registrants canceling before a class begins will receive a full refund minus a $5 processing fee.

·         Registrants canceling after a class begins will receive no more than a 50% refund.

·         No refund will be issued once a program is half completed.

·         Special requests must be made to the Superintendent of Recreation. 

5.      Camps:

·         Refunds must be submitted in writing sskaggs@florissantmo.com on the Wednesday of the previous week.

·         Refunds must be issued through the Recreation Supervisor and are issued pro-rated when applicable at any time after the camp has begun. The participant will be removed from the roster.

·         Refunds will be subject to a field trip fee if the participant has already been paid for.

6.      Leagues:

·         There are no refunds given for league registration.  A full refund will be issued for any canceled leagues.

·         A prorated refund will be provided if weather prohibits a session from completing all games.

 

Cancellation Policy

1.      Program, Event and Class Cancellations

o    If a program, class, or event does not meet the minimum enrollment requirements, the staff member responsible may cancel the program.

o    In the case of special events, the Event Supervisor, Superintendent of Recreation, and the Director of Parks and Recreation will determine whether the event is canceled or rescheduled.

o    No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed by the participant for personal reasons.

2.      Team Game Cancellations

o    Notice Requirement:

§  Teams must notify the Athletics Office in writing at least 24 hours in advance of their scheduled game if unable to attend.

§  Cancellation notices must be sent via email to: Athletics@florissantmo.com.

o    Late or No Notice Penalty:

§  Teams failing to provide notice at least 24 hours in advance will be charged a $25 cancellation fee per occurrence.

o    Repeated Violations:

§  Teams failing to provide proper notice more than three (3) times in a season may be removed from the league without refund.

 

3.      Cancellations for Meeting Rooms:

·         Cancellations MUST be submitted in writing 30 days prior to the event and will incur a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 30 days before the event will result in forfeiture of rental fees and the $25 cancellation fee.

4.      Cancellations for Venues (Gymnasium/Nature Lodge/ Fleur de Lis room):

·         6 months before rental will result in forfeiture of 25% of the deposit. 3 to 6 months before rental will result in forfeiture of 50% of the deposit. Cancellations less than 3 months to 45 days prior to rental will result in forfeiture of deposit. Anything less than 45 days will result in forfeiture of all rental fees.

 

Inclement Weather

·         Responsible staff are required to update Florissant Parks & Recreation games and program cancelations through the Rainout line.

·         Participants are encouraged to sign up for notifications or download the app.

 

Updated Weather Policy for Athletic Leagues:

The Rainout Line will be updated by 5:00 PM in the event of possible unsafe court conditions. If the league is canceled, teams will be notified via email through team sideline to team contact. All players will need to check the rainout line.

 

Please note:
If a thunderstorm or bad weather occurs after 5:00 PM, teams are still required to report to the courts\fields. At that time, conditions will be assessed on-site to determine if play is safe. This is an outdoor league, and extreme temperatures will not be considered a reason for cancellation

Weather & Heat Advisory Notice for Camp
Please note that we are an outdoor camp. We are aware of heat advisories and high temperatures and will take extra precautions to keep children safe. These include regular water, and bathroom breaks and opportunities to cool off when possible. However, we cannot guarantee indoor accommodations for all participants.

·         If you are concerned about extreme heat conditions, you are welcome to keep your child home for the day.
