Miss Metro St. Louis/ Miss River City Pageant

The Miss Metro St Louis / Miss River City pageants are preliminary pageants to the Miss America Pageant.  The Miss America Scholarship Pageant is the largest scholarship provider for women in America.  It's provided over 45 million dollars in scholarships annually.  Phases of competition include:  interview, physical fitness, evening gown and talent.  Miss Metro St Louis and River City will be proud to crown four new titleholders in September.

Florissant Valley Men of Harmony Presents:

The Florissant Follies

Come join us for an evening of a capella music, comedy skits and hijinks as the Florissant Men of Harmony present "The Florissant Follies."  It's a variety show filled with some of our favorite bits and music from the past along with some new ones we're sure you're gonna love.  Audience participation is expected as our esteemed judge polishes up "the gong" for those acts and jokes he deems unbefitting of our discriminating audience.  And you will especially enjoy our featured quartet "Rivertown Sound." So come and enjoy.

Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical and Voted Outstanding Musical of 973 AD!  Monty Python's Spamalot is an outrageous musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic  "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."  Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. St. Louis Shakespeare Presents:

Co-directed by St. Louis Shakespeare’s Artistic Director Donna Northcott and Nick Moramarco.  As one pair of (reluctant) lovers engages in a merry war of wits, another becomes innocent victims of a villainous plot to destroy their happiness. But thanks to the dogged persistence of a truly remarkable keeper of the peace, love prevails at last in one of Shakespeare’s most popular romantic comedies. Having collaborated as director and designer on several past productions, Northcott and Moramarco are sure to bring double the laughs to this fast-paced romantic comedy.  Appropriate for all ages. (This production can be included in your Florissant Fine Arts Council Applause Applause Series season ticket package.)

Northwinds Concert Band Presents: 



Oct. 26 – 3:00 p.m.


Northwinds Concert Band, under the direction of Larry Marsh, will present a high-spirited concert on Sunday afternoon October 26 at 3:00 p.m. The whole Northwinds program is filled with tuneful, uplifting music, including music from films and Broadway.   The band will also present some special pre-Halloween musical tricks and treats, including an exciting new composition based upon a German folk legend.  Northwinds has been acclaimed as the "best community band" in St. Louis, so please come out and support the work of these 55 fine local musicians!  Northwinds is a program of Ferguson-Florissant’s Community Education Department.  For more information about the band and the concert visit www.northwindsband.org.  There you will also find links to YouTube clips from our recent concerts.

“Flipside: The Patti Page Story”, winner of 18 National Awards at the Kennedy Center Honors, is a musical celebration of her rise to stardom. Flipside takes audiences on a well-conceived journey to 1965 in a place that used to be the KTUL Radio Station. Written from interviews with Miss Page, this show features 28 of her greatest hits, including Tennessee Waltz, (How Much Is That) Doggie in the Window, and Mockingbird Hill.

City of Florissant Thanksgiving Holiday Special:

"Cows that type? Hens on strike! Whoever heard of such a thing!" Farmer Brown cries.  When his granddaughter Jenny comes for a visit, Farmer Brown declared the farm a "tech-free zone." He confiscates her laptop in the cold barn along with the shivering cows who use her computer to type messages requesting blankets. “No way," replies Farmer Brown. "No blankets!” So the cows go on strike and the chickens join them in solidarity. No blankets: no milk, no eggs! Will Farmer Brown give in to the animals' demands? Will Jenny get her computer back? Find out in a hilariously "mooooo-ving" new musical about negotiation and compromise, Based on the Caldecott Honor book by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.

St. Louis Brass Band Presents:

Northwinds Concert Band Presents:

Northwinds Concert Band’s annual Holiday concert is a cherished family tradition. After a successful career as a promotion director for A&M Records where he worked with big artists like Frank Sinatra, St. Louis area local Ross Gentile worked as a DJ for WIBV, KSHE and WZQZ, and was a regular presence as an emcee at live jazz events in the St. Louis area including our very own Florissant Civic Center Theatre.  He died in February 2013 at age 60. Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville played host to the first tribute concert honoring Mr. Gentile last September in the Meridian Ballroom at the Morris University Center.  We are honored to be asked by his family to host a second fun and fast-moving Christmas version of that memorial concert where even more musicians and vocalists will be invited to perform in tribute to this “homegrown” national champion and force behind the growth and development of many professional jazz musicians.

Tied Up in Knotts is a must-see for kids of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s who grew up laughing at Don Knotts as Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show.  It’s a father-daughter story about growing up in a celebrity ‘Diva’ world with the love of Mayberry. Karen Knotts tells stories about her legendary comedian dad, Don Knotts.

Lilly loves everything about school, especially her cool teacher, Mr. Slinger. When he confiscates her prized possession, a purple plastic purse that plays music, joy turns to misery. Lilly, who is used to being the brightest and loudest mouse around, will also have to get used to sharing the spotlight with her new baby brother in this charming adaptation of Kevin Henkes' award-winning children's book. Gripped with anger after losing her purse, Lilly draws a mean portrait of Mr. Slinger and hides it in his book bag. When she gets her purse back and opens it outside of school, she finds a surprising note: "Today was a difficult day. Tomorrow will be better." Suddenly wracked with guilt, Lilly sets out to make up with her teacher, but villainous bicycle-riding bullies, a spotlight-stealing baby brother and the dreaded "uncooperative chair" will test our heroine's resolve

The Branson family entertainment phenomenon began over 55 years ago in 1959 when the four Mabe brothers, known as the Baldknobbers, began entertaining visitors on the Branson Lakefront.  Today, the family legacy continues with the second and third generations of the Mabe family carrying on the family tradition of great country music and hilarious comedy.  Joined by a cast of dynamic singers, musicians, comedians and entertainers, they perform your favorite country classics, hot new country hits and lots of side-splitting comedy.
