City of Florissant COVID-19 Updates and Doing Business Remotely


As announced by County Executive Dr. Page on Friday, November 13, 2020, COVID-19 cases have been surging in St. Louis County over the past couple of weeks, just as they have around the country. In response to the increase in community transmission and the strain on our healthcare system, new public health orders have been announced and will go into effect at on Tuesday, November 17th.

We will continue to work through this pandemic situation and will continue to provide the best services to our residents in a safe and efficient manner. Thank you again for all of your cooperation and patience. The City of Florissant is here to support you throughout these difficult times and will be doing everything possible to ensure the health and safety of our community. Information remains fluid and does change daily so please stay updated by visiting our website and all of our social media outlets that are mention in the media section of this message. Below is a timeline of COVID-19 as it relates to the St. Louis County and Florissant area. We will be updating this page as more information becomes available.


All City buildings will remain open to the public and the wearing of masks will still be required, temperatures will be taken upon entering a city facility and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.


We are asking Florissant residents and community members to help us minimize unnecessary public contact during this public health crisis. Please contact the City by phone (314) 921-5700 or online through the “Action Center” button on the home page of the City’s website at Staff members will respond to phone messages and online requests as quickly as possible.

Permits, plans and related application forms for the Departments of Community Development, Public Works and City Clerk’s Office may be dropped off in a drop box that will be inside the rear lobby at City Hall. For more information, call (314) 921-5700. We ask that if you need to make a payment to mail in your check to: Florissant City Hall, 955 rue St. Francois Street, Florissant MO 63031 and make it attention to the appropriate department to be processed properly.


Public Works Department:

City Clerk’s Department:

City Council meetings are posted on the website, Facebook and in the lobby at City Hall.  If meetings are held virtually, the meeting invitation will be posted the day of the meeting. Public Works Department:

  • City Hall will reopen on September 14, 2020 and there will be guidelines in place in public works.

  • Check in with the Park Ranger. Temperatures will be taken upon entry and masks are required along with social distancing rules. Admittance will be limited to the public works department. The Park Ranger will contact you for admittance as space allows.

  • Applications may be dropped off as above or submitted via email at We now have the ability to accept credit/ debit cards over the phone. Public Works Department at 314-839-7648.
  • Here is what is required to register a dog or cat in Florissant
    1. Proof of CURRENT rabies shot (MUST provide paperwork, not a picture of the tag)
    2. Breed of dog/cat and notated if animal is spayed or neutered
    3. Color of said animal
    4. If animal is a Pit Bull current rabies and proof of spay/neuter is mandatory
    5. Owners name, current address and current phone number

    Parks Department:

    • The James J Eagan and JFK Centers are currently open and are allowing only 25% capacity in any space. These numbers will be increased as St. Louis County allows increases.
    • Temperature will be taken upon arrival and mask are required along with social distancing rules.  Guest are asked to bring their own filled water bottles due to the fact water fountains will remain closed until further notice.
    • All building rentals are limited to the 25% of the room capacity.
    • Class sizes will be limited to 10 people per class.
    • All park users are encouraged to continue with social distancing practices.

    Senior Office:

    • The Senior Center will continue to operate. If you have questions or if you need assistance during this time, please call the Senior Office at 314-839-7604.
    • Our Florissant Bus Transportation will continue to run allowing seniors to go to the grocery store, doctor appointments and dialysis appointments.
    • All Senior Citizen Trips have been cancelled for 2020.
    • The 2020 Senior New Year’s Eve party has been cancelled.
    • When gatherings are permitted in the community, all guidelines recommended by the CDC at the time of the scheduled event, will be followed including social distancing, masks, etc. For all updates on the Friday Lunch Program, Club Meetings, parties, dances and other events, call the Senior Office at 839-7605.  
    • All in person Oasis Classes held at the Senior Center are cancelled until further notice.
    • The City of Florissant AARP Tax Program has been cancelled for 2020.

    Florissant Golf Club:

    The Florissant Golf Club remains open. In addition to the previously mentioned restrictions and sanitization procedures, we will be implementing the following to comply with social distancing requirements in the St. Louis County executive order:

    • All golfers must maintain a distance of 6ft between themselves and others at all times.
    • All golfers must either ride one/two people per cart or choose to walk the course. All golfers will be asked to sanitize their carts before and after use.
    • The Pro Shop will be open with a limit of 2 people at a time.  The clubhouse will be open for restroom use only.  Golfers are encouraged to continue to sign up for tee times on line at

    • Everyone must wear a mask.
