The Florissant Police Department is an internationally accredited law enforcement agency providing professional law enforcement services to one of the largest municipalities in the state of Missouri. The department is headquartered in a contemporary facility located at 1700 North Highway 67, approximately 2 miles north of Interstate I-270.

A staff of 90 sworn officers and 26 civilians are assigned throughout three operational bureaus. The Bureau of Field Operations is the largest and most visible component of the department and includes the uniformed police officers responsible for the around the clock patrol of the community, as well as officers assigned to the Traffic Safety Unit, DARE, and the School Resource Officer Unit. The Florissant Police Department's Park Police Officers are also assigned to the Bureau of Field Operations. The Bureau of Investigation includes the detectives assigned to Criminal Investigation and the Evidence Technician Unit, as well as the corrections officers who are responsible for supervising the detention of prisoners. The Bureau of Support Services includes the officers and staff assigned to the Communications Unit, Records Unit, Accreditation, Training, Community and Media Relations and other support functions.

A philosophy of community oriented problem solving is inherent to the department. Officers and staff from all components of the department work with residents to maintain and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods and business communities.

State-of-the-art technology insures efficient and effective delivery of services. Records management and computer aided dispatching are integrated and include mobile computers in every patrol car. Each patrol vehicle is also equipped with global positioning satellite equipment, allowing dispatchers to see the location of each unit and in the event of an emergency call dispatch the closest unit.
