VIPS Program Mission:
The Auxiliary volunteers of the Florissant Police Department provide an opportunity for citizens of the community to assist law enforcement in the delivery of programs and information to the community.

VIPS Program Principals:
Our volunteers are proud representatives who are dedicated to providing excellent service through relationships that build trust, creates a safe environment, and enhances the quality of life in our community. In offering their time, skills and services to the Florissant Police Department, these citizen volunteers help supplement and support officers and civilian personnel by allowing them to concentrate on their primary duties.

VIPS Program Overview:
The Florissant Police Department volunteers serve the residents in the most professional, effective, courteous and progressive manner possible. We will accomplish this while maintaining a reputation of being an innovative and progressive Law Enforcement Agency, which is concerned about the needs of the citizens we serve.

VIPS Duties and Responsibilities:
The Florissant Police Department volunteer roles include performing some clerical tasks, serving as an extra set of "eyes and ears," in the community, assist with the annual Valley of Flowers festival, 4 th of July firework display, St. Louis Cardinal/Kansas City Life Insurance Baseball Card program, Neighborhood Watch, National Night Out Against Crime, Missouri Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics, American Cancer Society North St. Louis County Relay For Life, and the Old Town Festival.

VIPS Requirements:
· Must be 18 years of age or older. (Explorers 14 to 20 years of age)
· Must live or work within the City of Florissant, Missouri.
· Must not have been convicted of a felony crime.
· Must not have been convicted of certain misdemeanor crimes.
· Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license.
· Must be emotionally stable.
· Must not be addicted to any legal or illegal substance including alcohol, or prescription drugs.
· Must provide a completed and signed application form.
· All applicants are subject to background or criminal history record check.
· Must contribute a minimum of volunteer hours per month (varies per month).
· Attend scheduled, mandatory or emergency meetings.
