Florissant Police Department to Host Safety Town 2007

Chief William Karabas is pleased to announce that after eight extremely successful years, the Florissant Police Department will host the ninth annual Safety Town. Safety Town is a nationally recognized safety program for 4, 5 and 6 year old pre-school children. The program allows children the opportunity to see police officers as their friends and teachers. They learn about safety issues through classroom interaction as well as interactive play in a miniature town, complete with buildings, stop signs, electrical signals and the like.

Topics such as walking safety, bicycle / tri-cycle safety, school bus and playground safety, stranger danger and tool and toy safety are covered. Fire safety instruction and a visit by the Florissant Valley Fire Department are also planned.

This year’s Safety Town will be held at Combs Elementary located at 300 St. Jean (at Washington), for two sessions on the following dates:

  Session #1 AM June 11 - 22, 10:00 am thru 12:00 noon
