Boards and Commissions

Looking to get involved in Your Community?

Florissant Boards and Commissions offer residents an opportunity to play a direct role in making our community an extraordinary place to live, work and raise a family.  Boards and Commissions serve as an extension of government, created to advise the City Council and the Mayor on a broad spectrum of issues that directly impact our quality of life.

Volunteering for a Board or Commission is one of the best ways to get involved in your local government.  There are 19 Boards and Commissions with a variety of interests and missions.  The City Council and the Mayor rely on the boards and commissions to consider issues, review applications, or generate new ideas that are sent through as recommendations.  Those recommendations assist the Council and the Mayor in making well-informed decisions.

Click on the links below to see a description of each of the boards and commissions. The list below shows the current openings, however, if you are interested in one that does not have an opening, please fill out an application and we will keep it on file until an opening occurs.  All applications are sent to the Council and the Mayor, and the appropriate elected official will contact you before the appointment is made at a City Council meeting.
