Big Band Patriotic Salute

The Florissant Fine Arts Council and the City of Florissant continue the series of Big Band Concerts featuring Gary Dammer on trumpet. The show will also include seventeen of the St. Louis area's finest musicians in their annual Memorial Day Patriotic Salute.

Sept. 14 – 7:00 p.m.
Pianafiddle draws from genres as diverse as classical, bluegrass, jazz, Celtic, ragtime, and klezmer, concert violinist Adam DeGraff, and ragtime pianist Lynn Wright blend the traditional, the unwritten, and the spontaneous, creating accessible new music. “If we like it, we play it” and since they have a healthy appreciation for good music, no matter the style, their programs transcend musical genre. Beginning only with a familiar tune, improvising as they go, blending the traditional, the unwritten, and the spontaneous in compelling performances that get toes tapping and hands clapping!

*Florissant Fine Arts Council Presents: ‘CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES”
Oct. 24 – 8:00 p.m. Oct. 25 – 8:00 p.m.
A celebration of the church basement kitchen and the women, who work there, Church Basement Ladies, is a new musical comedy featuring four distinct characters and their relationships as they organize the food and solve the problems of a rural Minnesota church. They stave off potential disasters, share and debate recipes, instruct the young and keep the Pastor on due course while thoroughly enjoying (and tolerating) each other as the true “steel magnolias” of the church. Funny and down to earth, you will recognize these ladies as they witness the church year unfold from below the house of God.
