The Florissant Police Department will be holding two Women’s Self Defense classes over the summer. Participants will meet once a week, for two hours, over four consecutive Thursdays. A variety of self defense topics will be addressed;
- Increasing personal safety awareness,
- The importance of physical fitness,
- Self defense techniques, and
- Reporting procedures of suspicious activity or actual criminal acts.

The instructor, Florissant Officer Ed Sharp, is a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor in Pressure Point Control Techniques (PPCT).
There is NO CHARGE for these sessions but registration is required as the number of participants will be limited to 20 students for each session. Applications may be picked up at the JJE Civic Center and the Florissant Police Department. We will begin accepting applications on Monday, May 4th. Registration will be handled on a first come first served basis.
