Chief Karabas is encouraging all Florissant residents to join us for a “Meet Your Neighbor” night on Tuesday, October 5th from 7:00 P.M. till 10:00 P.M.
Florissant citizens are encouraged to get together in their neighborhoods for a night out to get to meet one another. Chief Karabas said, “It a perfect time to get to know your neighbor.” “We need people to continue to be involved in their neighborhoods by watching out for each other. One way to do that is to get out and meet your neighbor.”
Crime prevention starts at home and one of the best deterrents to criminals we have available, free of charge, is for neighbors watching out for each other. Keeping valuables secured, locking your doors and windows, taking the time to look out a window and always reporting suspicious activity when you see it.
Getting to know your neighbor is a great way to begin to build that neighborhood crime prevention partnership.
This is a perfect opportunity for your neighborhood to hold a block party. A block party permit is required and is free of charge. Contact the Mayor’s office for your block party permit application, or download one from the City’s website at; www.florissantmo.com.
