Florissant Crime Rates Continue to Decrease

Florissant has experienced a steady decrease most crime categories for the first seven months of this year.  There has been a decrease on 139 Part I Crimes, and Part II Crimes are down by 65 reports for a combined total decrease of 204 reports.

Part I Crime include Homicide, Rape/Attempted Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assaults (Weapon used or serious physical injury), Burglary (Residential/Commercial), Stealing, Motor Vehicle Theft and Arson.  Part II Crimes include Simple Assault, Property Damage and Sex Offenses (excluding Rape).

A few categories had significant decreases as compared to the same time period for 2009 (January-July).  Robberies are down by 14 incidents, Both Residential Burglaries are down by 31 reports, Motor Vehicle Thefts decreased by 8 reports and Stealing was down by 87 reports.

Assaults were up slightly with Aggravated Assaults up by six reports and Simple Assaults increased by thirteen reports.  Sex Offenses reports, which exclude Rape/Attempted Rape, saw an increase of three reports.
