Mayor Lowery Announces Participation in
Greatest Family Show of the Year
November 1, 2007

Mayor Robert G. Lowery, Sr. of Florissant announced that he is serving on the committee to raise funds for the Siteman Cancer Center at St. Peters Barnes-Jewish Hospital for cancer research, treatment and education of this dreaded disease. Mayor Lowery said that we must win the war against this ugly disease which has targeted nearly every family in America.

In an effort to advertise this fundraiser, the "Circus to Save Lives" will be having a parade in Florissant on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. It will start at St. Ferdinand Shrine, through the Sacred Heart Parish grounds, down Jefferson to St. Francois and up to City Hall. Mayor Lowery, along with Diana Weidinger, President of the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Mark Behlmann, President of the Hazelwood School Board, have volunteered to ride atop the elephants! The Mayor laughed and said, "I know what people will say, but I will do anything to help this great cause."

The circus is traveling throughout North America and will be putting on shows at the St. Charles Family Arena November 15th - November 18th, 2007. The shows will feature world class circus artists from all parts of the globe performing unbelievable acts and stunts. You will see three rings of exotic and unique animals performing amazing tricks. A heart-stopping thrill ride promises to take your breath away as you watch the most dangerous yet exciting acts of the Steel Globe of Death and the Human Cannonball. For those who love a good laugh, there will be the funniest and most entertaining clowns in America that will keep your family smiling for months to come. Before the show, during the intermission and after the show, children may ride an elephant, a pony or choose from any of the other attractions that will be offered. There will also be a free petting zoo for the children to enjoy.

Circus tickets are available at the discounted price of $10.00, a savings of $6.50, at Florissant City Hall, the John F. Kennedy Community Center, and the James J. Eagan Center. You may visit www.circustosavelives.org for additional information.

Mayor Lowery said, "I hope everyone will come out and see the most exciting circus brought to the Metro Area and help the fight against cancer."
