Nature Lodge Programs

Today, Mayor Robert G. Lowery, Sr. of Florissant announced that various programs conducted by 25 different agencies will be held in the near future at the Nature Lodge located in Sunset Park. A few of the upcoming programs will be:

  • "Hunters Education" which will provide a foundation in hunting safety and ethics and instill responsibility and compliance with laws and wildlife regulations,
  • "Discover Nature Schools" which will begin in January and gets students excited about nature
  •  "Explore!" - Learn about the world around you, visit with interesting creatures, and even build something yourself. This is a 3-week class that will be held on Tuesday evenings at the Nature Lodge one week in October, November and December.
  • "Youth Fishing Clinic" will demonstrate the parts and functions of spin casting a rod and reel, knot tying, casting, hooking playing and landing a fish and fishing for panfish.

The Mayor said, "There will be more exciting programs from the Science Center, the History Museum, the Junior College and many other entities which will benefit all ages. The facility is available for rental of all types of events. Call the Parks Department at 314-839-7670 for rental fees. You will not find a more beautiful place that has the surrounding and scenic views as the Nature Lodge."
