Lindenwood University Plans to be North County’s University
28 October, 2005: Lindenwood University today rolled out a plan for its newest Site – Our Lady of Fatima in Florissant. In the agreement arrived at between Lindenwood University and Johnny Londoff Chevrolet, the University has purchased the site with the intent of turning it into a major facility serving all of North St. Louis County.
“The success we have had in the City of Florissant over the last year has proven to us that Lindenwood University needs to have a major presence in North County” said Dennis Spellmann, President of Lindenwood University. “Our Lady of Fatima is the perfect location, and will serve as a great base of operations for our North County focus.”
“We see a multitude of opportunities at this location,” said John Guffey, Dean of Admissions for Lindenwood. “We plan to offer coursework leading to undergraduate degree completion, graduate education classes, professional and school counseling, and graduate management courses. Lindenwood University will truly be North County’s University.”
Florissant Mayor Robert G. Lowery brokered the deal in which Lindenwood University purchased the property, consisting of the school and church at 4450 Washington Street. The Londoff dealership will use part of the property to store vehicles.
