Myers Barn


John B. Myers House 180 Dunn Rd.

John B. Myers House and Barn, 1869-70. Victorian with Palladian influence. Owned and restored by Historic Florissant, Inc., it is a "working complex" occupied by antique, art and craft shops with a barn deli. Open Tue. and Wed. 10am to 8pm and Mon, Thur, Fri, & Sat from 10am to 4pm. Call 921-4606. [click here for map]

Narrow Gauge Railroad Station 1060 St. Catherine

Narrow Gauge Railroad Station built in 1878 and moved to its present location when threatened with destruction. It was restored by Historic Florissant, Inc. It is occupied by a Candy Shop.

Old St. Ferdinand's Shrine # 1 Rue St. Francois

Old Ferdinand's Shrine is the oldest Catholic Church building between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains. Convent wing built in 1819. Federal Architecture, for Blessed Philippine Rose Duchesne. Church proper built in 1820. Here on 9-23-1827 Father DeSmet, beloved Black Robe of Indian nations, was ordained. No longer used as a church, it is maintained by non-sectarian Friends of Old St. Ferdinand and is open Sundays 1 to 4pm. No admission charge. Tours may be arranged by writing to P.O. Spanish Land Grant Park St. Dennis At St. Ferdinand Rd.

Spanish Land Grant Park, a gift of the Spanish King to the inhabitants of the village of St. Ferdinand. Once the Place d'Arms where the militia drilled. Many of the early settlers lie here in unmarked graves. Location of La Plaza Memorial.[click here for map]

Taille de Noyer On campus of McCluer High School

When it was still the Country of the Illinois, the plantation of Taille de Noyer was a part of the Florissant Valley. Once an Indian trading post, later the hunting lodge of John Mullanphy, one of Missouri's most illustrious citizens, it became the country home of Mullanphy's descendants until it was acquired by the Florissant Valley Historical Society in 1961. Restored as a house museum-open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, 1-4pm, Sunday 12-5pm. Admission charge.Call 524-1100.[click here for map]


Taille de Noyer


Tower Court Log Cabin Tower Court Park, Washington and New Florissant Road

Probably built by a trapper around 1850, the cabin is still located on its original site which was purchased by the Cougot family in 1960 and then was donated to the Florissant Valley Historical Society. The cabin was restored by Historic Florissant, Inc. in the late 1980's. [click here for map]
