The City's Building Division enforces all building and zoning code issues of existing properties, redevelopment, new, and remodeling construction projects within the City, issues construction permits and occupancy permits and performs all related plan review and inspection for both residential and commercial projects. Requests for service or information from the Building Division can be made by calling (314) 839-7647 or (314) 839-7648, Monday-Friday, 8-5.

Commercial Occupancy Permits and Inspections
Prior to occupying a commercial building, which includes such uses as schools, churches, community organizations, an occupancy inspection and permit are required. In most cases a business license is also required. Applications for a business license and commercial occupancy inspection may be obtained from the Florissant Finance Department at the Florissant City Hall. The Building Commissioner reviews all commercial occupancy requests for compliance to the Florissant Zoning Code.
